Valerie Easton, Garden Columnist Seattle Times

Valerie Easton has been up to her elbows in gardening culture and media for many years. She’s a Horticultural Librarian, 18 years a weekly Garden Columnist for the Seattle Times and author of 5 books–with her most recent hardcover, Petal & Twig: Seasonal Bouquets with Blossoms, Branches, and Grasses from Your Garden.

Valerie didn’t catch the gardening bug at an early age, but was captivated as an adult by the beauty and immediacy of flower arrangement.

Her favorite gardening tip? The glorious seasonality of gardening should beckon us to enjoy the moment.  Don’t fret it.
